On this page you'll find the Social Media posts collected in our research, which were mined from Reddit forums to uncover different patient harms occuring due to hospital cyberattacks. As these posts are generally from patients, staff or relatives of patients, we have removed the links to source content and edited the posts to ensure any identifiable information is removed (e.g. usernames, location, details on insurers/hospital).
p class="lead"> The posts are categorised by the most relevant clinical specialty to the patient's care. We found that the social media data differed from the harms found in academic databases, with a greater focus on outpatient settings and non-acute clinical specialties (e.g. chronic pain management, psychiatric care). Visit the full CIPHER Cube Models page from the homepage to compare the academic and social media data on singular plots.Click on the buttons below to see collections of social media posts within specific clinical specialties (e.g. Cardiology). **Please note, some specialities only had data points from the academic sources, thus may not return any social media posts. See the full CIPHER Cube Models on the home page for all specialty-specific posts, encompassing both social media and academic sources.**
